OK, this post strike and series of delays are starting to get really annoying. It’s been going on and off throughout October, and has now dragged into November too. There are more 24-hour strikes planned for this Friday and next Monday, oh joy of joys.
There are a number of reasons I’m pissed off, to do with waiting for things through the post:
My new phone was posted from o2 last Sunday, and has yet to arrive. The charger has turned up (God knows why it was sent separately), but not the handset. And seeing as my current phone’s earpiece has gone, forcing me to use it it only on speakerphone, it’s tres annoying.
I signed up to a couple of magazine subscriptions pretty much on the day that the strikes and delays were announced, and as such have had to wait far too long for them to be delivered. Last week’s Economist just hasn’t turned up at all, and the Private Eye issue which was posted last Tuesday is similarly MIA. I’m tempted to go out and buy it instead, thus defeating the point of the subscription…
It’s the uncertainty that’s the problem. As I said above, the charger for my new phone has arrived, but not the handset. And this week’s Economist turned up super-speedily and bang on time. I’ve no idea when or even if to expect my other deliveries, and I’m rapidly losing faith in the postal service as a whole.
Sort it out, for fuck’s sake!
