Rob, Rambling

I think I may have a bit of an insomnia/sleepwalking problem. I keep waking up at about 3 in the morning, whether I’ve gone to bed early or late, drunk or sober. It’s not hard to get back to sleep, but it’s obviously an interruption of my sleeping pattern, and I get knackered the next day.

And a couple of times over the last fortnight I’ve quite literally come to, already in the shower and washing myself. I don’t remember going for a shower, and it’s always around the same time too: 3am.

It’s not until I leave the bathroom and see that it’s dark that I realise it’s the middle of the night, and force myself to go back to sleep.

Last night, for example, I came to in the shower, having not brought a towel with me into the bathroom, but instead my trousers, which must’ve been on my bedroom floor. I genuinely have absolutely no recollection of waking, or walking to the shower, let alone any sense that I made a decision to shower.

It scares me, it really does. If I can make it to the bathroom, climb into the bath and operate the shower, all while seemingly unconscious, then what else could I do? Or what else have I already done without knowing?
