I want to start an audio podcast with gooneruk wherein we chat humorously about the cultural and social differences between the US and the UK.
I suppose something along these lines could work as a blog, too. “The American and The Not American” is my working title.
(See what I did there? Seriously, why isn’t our jingoism used against us more? Or is it used plenty, and I’m just completely insulated from it? Propaganda is a warm blanket, though, so I’m not complaining.)
Maybe I should mention this stuff to him.
I really should follow Chris so that I’m aware of this kind of thing.
I emailed him a while back about starting two blogs: one with a stereotypically macho man voice, and one with an uber-modern, in touch with his feelings male voice. The idea was to use them to debate each other a little, showing that the middle ground is actually where most men find themselves, and that we are a mix of both extremes.
It was around the time of Testumblrone, which is probably why it got left on the back burner for a little while.
I’d be up for doing this podcast thing, though I’d have to go buy a microphone. Not sure how the cross-Atlantic recording would work either. A case of each of us doing it in turn, or putting together a larger conversation from some longer pieces?
Either way, I’ll give it a go.
