Minor Irritations About My New House: Number 94
I bought an electric toothbrush the other day (these dental costs are going up and up), on the recommendation / instruction of my dentist. I used to have one way back when, probably while I was still living at home, but haven’t used one in years.
Unfortunately, my house doesn’t want to play ball.
The toothbrush has one of those two-prong plugs designed for a shaver socket that you find in every bathroom in the UK. Except my house, evidently. Honestly, I can’t even remember the last house I was in that didn’t have one of these sockets.
Of course, this type of plug doesn’t work anywhere else in the house, in our normal 3-prong sockets, so I’ve had to go buy a converter today. Plus, I’ll need to keep the thing in my bedroom, as there are no plug sockets of any kind in the bathroom, so no doubt I won’t use it as often as I should. Or will constantly forget to recharge it.
So this is another thing to add to the list of “features” of my new house that are starting to add up and irritate me. Oh well, only another 10.5 months left on the lease…!
