Righty, I’m off to meet a couple of ex-coworkers in the pub we used to work at, which should be good. A load of my mates still work there, which usually means cheap drinks. Always a bonus.
I’m not planning to be ultra-late, as I’ve already had a couple at lunchtime (it’s Friday!), and want to go to a photography exhibition tomorrow morning/lunchtime. It’s about New York, and is no doubt part of my ongoing obsession with the city.
I only have one thing on my to-do-before-I-die list that I haven’t yet ticked off, and that is to live in NYC. Ideally, I’d like to do this before I’m 30, but that doesn’t leave me with much time. He says, at the age of 24.
When I saw PeterWKnox’s video, specifically the bit where he walks out of his front door onto a busy street, I got insanely jealous. My new place is in suburbia, for want of a better word, and London just doesn’t have those kinds of busy area apartments that are relatively affordable.
I’m a city boy nowadays, having been in London for nearly 6 years, and I think that I would cope just fine in an even bigger, denser city. Here’s hoping.
As a sidenote, I’ve never actually been to NYC. Yet. Maybe later this year.
