My morning routine is becoming increasingly boring and repetitive:
- Wake up, hit snooze at least once, eventually fall out of bed and rub the sleep out of my eyes
- Walk zombie-like to the bathroom, scratch my balls and shower. For aaaaages. I love the shower. Every other day, shave.
- Amble back to my room, check the time and then get in a mad rush to dress, deoderise and pack my bag.
- Run downstairs with shirt in hand, rapidly iron it (sans sleeves), and throw it on.
- Drink some juice straight from the carton, because time is of the essence.
- Go back upstairs to brush teeth and style hair. This takes longer than is probably necessary.
- Walk 10-15 minutes to the train station, after spending first 3 minutes untangling headphone cable because it is always tangled up. I don’t know how.
- Try to find a non-sunny seat on the train to avoid overheating, turn up iPod and open up the book.
- Join the rush off the train, up the stairs and out of the station.
- Grab something to eat from the shop, and eat it at my desk, after turning on the computer, Reuters screen and other bits and pieces.
I’m in a morning rut, I can’t help but feel.
