A few years ago, a girl I went to university with invited me to come along to her birthday dinner. She was going to some random restaurant with a load of people that she was currently doing a post-grad course with, and I would be the only one (I think) who wasn’t on that course. I was umming and ahhing about it, but decided to go along.
Towards the end of the dinner, after everyone had swapped chairs a million times, I ended up sat opposite this gorgeous little blonde girl in a red/white checked shirt. We chatted away for at least an hour, and coincidentally had to get the same bus back towards south London, which gave us another half hour or so of being able to get to know each other.
I looked her up on Facebook a day or two later, and we arranged for a second date. Both of us got quite, quite drunk on that one, and the rest is history! Just over a year later, we moved in together, and have been living in our little flat for 15 months now, all loved up.
Regarding lunch, if it were Thursday then the Sub of the Day would be a great shout: Italian BMT. Today’s, though, is savoury turkey breast, which is rubbish. It’s not a proper sandwich unless there’s at least 3 different meats in there!
