Spice Girls - Spice Up Your Life

Kapi just posted this track, and it brought back memories of some of the most godawful lyrics in the history of pop music.

Men Without Hats - Safety Dance

Thanks to the combined efforts of Lacey and @FeverPitch on Twitter a couple of weeks ago, I managed to find this track from only a snippet of a half-remembered lyric.

And what a song! An absolute classic example of 80s synth-pop.

You lean in close and say something sexy like, “I might go to bed; I’ve got work in the morning.
Flight Of The Conchords - Business Time, which randomly popped up on my iPod yesterday. I was chuckling away to myself on the bus for a good few minutes.
Here it is: the groove, slightly transformed.
Just a bit of a break from the norm
No cheeses for us meeces
Probably my favourite lyric from the songs in The Muppet Christmas Carol. You’ve got to do it in a squeaky, high-pitched voice to get it right.

Various Production - Circle Of Sorrow

This is a pretty damn haunting track which really tugs at the heartstrings. The voice is pure emotion, and the mellowness of the track as a whole lowers your defences.

I’ve not been able to find the lyrics to this song anywhere online, so indulge me while I transcribe them here:

Circle of Sorrow, let me come in
Your secret affair, was whispering there
Don’t charge me a fare to go back home
It’s familiar to me, I’ll go it alone
Don’t try to wake me, but leave me to sleep
My will is strong, but my heart is weak
Hide in the shadows, I’ll find you there
Fall from the heavens, I’ll catch you in the air.

But YOU, find a home, with me
YOU, find a home, with me

Hide in the shadows, I’ll find you there,
Fall from the heavens, I’ll find you in the end
Wait by the river, that flows to the sea
Swim in the water, that brought you home to me

And you, find a home, with me
YOU, find a home, with me

Circle of Sorrow, let me come in
Your secret to bear, was whispering there
Don’t charge me any money to go back home
It’s familiar to me, I’ll go it alone

But you, find a home, with me
I said YOU, find a home, with me

Wait by the river, that flows to the sea
Swim in the water, that brought you home to me
Hide in the shadows, I’ll find you there
Fall from the heavens, and I’ll catch you in the air

Oh you, find a home, in me
You, find a home, right here with me

You gotta let ‘em know that this is the 80’s
And we can get all the ladies
Flavor Flav has all the best lyrics in Public Enemy songs. This is from the end of Public Enemy Number One.
She’s so dangerous.
The girl is so dangerous.
Take away my money,
Throw away my time.
You can call me Honey,
But you’re no damn good for me

Like I said, I’m bringing Jacko back.
